The weather is usually warm in summer, but most of time it will be rainy each time of the year. It is recommended that bring an umbrella or raincoat with you. Temperature changes between 15-25 centigrade degrees. So, you are not probably be disturbed by air conditions.
There are different ways to arrive Trabzon by highway, airway and seaway. Karadeniz Technical University and the congress center are very close to airport and coach station. Also, you can find a taxi or small transport options wherever you are in every time.
The local currency is Turkish Lira (TL). Foreign currency can be exchanged at the airport, banks, hotels and exchange offices. All major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) are accepted in hotels, shops and restaurants. You can also use the Visa/Mastercard in ATM/cash machine to get money.
While small shops are open from 07:00 to 21:00, Shopping Malls are open 10:00-22:00 every day. There are some additional options to buy something from kiosk, market or grocery, which can be found almost everywhere.
A Value Added Tax (VAT) of 18% is charged on most goods and services. There is some tax free shops for tourists.
Trabzon is located at Black Sea Region of Turkey that means North-east of Turkey. Turkey has time zone two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and one hour ahead of Central European Time (CET) because of geographical location.
General household electric power is 220V, 50Hz. Two round-pin plugs are standard. A standard voltage converter and plug adapter should be sufficient for conversions.
